prox·im·i·ty
präkˈsimədē/
noun-nearness in space, time, or relationship.

The power of proximity will change everything when you become consciously aware of it, make adjustments when necessary, and maximize its benefits.
Becoming Consciously Aware
Relational proximity is something that can be underestimated in the life of a leader.  Many experts say that we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with… I’ll let you determine if you agree with that concept. Regardless, it is proven that our ability to reach our potential is higher when we have a powerful Mastermind Group, a Leadership Coach, and/or an Organization that aids us in reaching our potential as a leader.  A Mastermind Group is composed of like-minded individuals for the purpose of information, inspiration, and collaboration with a common goal.  As a leader, we can fall into the trap of “knowing a lot” but not “doing”. The gap between knowing and doing is the Performance Gap. Your performance increases when your relational proximity is in place.

Awareness:
  • What does my current proximity look like?
  • What affect is my proximity having on me and what affect am I having on my proximity?

Making Adjustments
Once we become consciously aware of the impact that our current proximity is having on us, we can then make adjustments. As a leader, we can be intentional about creating relationships that impact our organization and personal life or we can leave proximity up to chance. The chances are not good if you leave it up to chance.

Adjustments:
  • Discover new relationships
  • Help those you're leading reach their goals

Maximize Its Benefits
After we make the proper adjustments to our proximity, it is now time to capitalize.  When you have an objective resource speaking to your greatest potential, it will energize you to do more and accomplish more than you would otherwise be able to do.  This will give you the ability to create greater momentum as you proceed forward with your objectives. When you have momentum working on your side, your mission is accelerated and multiplied.  There are many benefits to proximity in the life of a leader and organization.

Benefits:
  • Increased Productivity
  • Greater Awareness

“Proximity has the ability to catapult you into your greatest potential!”
